ELECTRICAL POLES

7FTD manufactures concrete reinforced electrical poles. The main standards that are used for the company’s products are structured below:

  • Vietnamese standard for electrical poles and telecom poles:
  • TCVN 5846 – 1994: Electrical centrifugal concrete pole – composition and dimension
  • TCVN 5847 – 1994: Electrical centrifugal concrete pole – requirements of technology and testing approaches
  • EDC standard for electrical poles
    • Mentioned in drawings

Besides the above mentioned product standards, many other standards have been applied and implemented in order to manufacture quality products. These standards deal for instance with material and construction issues.

Table 1 presents the product characteristics following the Vietnamese standard TCVN 5847.

Besides the products mentioned in table 1 and 2, there are more possibilities depending on the customer’s design. They will vary in length, diameter, heading force or will have for instance more ground wire inside for lightening protection.

The background story of electrical poles is similar to that of the foundation piles. They are made in the same conditions and in the same environment, but for a different use. They share the same advantages overs substitute products such as wooden poles and iron poles:

There is no rusting or rotting to monitor, and replacements and patches are not needed. These factors provide a much better return on investment over the long-term.
